Hi Everybody
Yesterday we went to the Kayaba Free Baptist Church, we had to walk in to the Church which was in the middle of the slums. We had to walk between houses that were very close together and where all the roofs were made out of metal and were sticking out into the path. As we entered the Church the people were singing for us and they were all very welcoming. After the service we helped serve lunch to the community which was really exciting. The Kitchen room was really hot, but when I saw the smiles of the little children, it was worth the heat. After the lunch serving we got ready for our Worship Concert. It was a success most of the Kenyan pepole who were there sang along with us and participated with the hand motions. It was really fun. The one event that was not fun was the bathroom. The bathroom didn't look like our bathrooms. It was a space between four houses and had a little door, that needed to be help shut. There were cracks everywhere so people could see you and it didn't have a ceiling . But when you went into the bathroom, there was a wooden board and the sewage ran under the board. So you had to stand over the sewage. It was really disgusting. Yesteray was really amazing and to see the Kenyan people worship God just like us was very cool.

Hi Dakota! Thanks for sharing with us! You are beng a real blessing to the people you meet and God is blessing you too. Yes, many bathrooms around the world are different from ours aren't they? Our Thailand/Laos team a few years ago gave funds to our missionaries so they build a squat toilet--but ended up putting the toilet in backwards because the people had never used one before! (Ask Heather about it!)
ReplyDeleteWe will keep praying for you!
Hi Dakota,
ReplyDeleteThanks for blogging, and sharing your amazing day despite the unpleasant bathroonms. God is good. May he continue to watch over you and the team. May your good deeds glorify your Father in heaven (Matthew 5:16).
