This isn't going to be a post with much deep thought in it... i'm still kind of processing it all. Already i feel like there is so much we've experienced and so much that God has been saying to me, and i have always been an especially bad procrastinator at journaling for long, meaningful trips, so i'm already two-ish days behind. Just writing stuff out by hand in a handy dandy notebook really seems to help me give form to the thoughts drifting through my head, and i haven't quite gotten to that yet. When i do..! :)
What this is going to be is a photo journal of sorts! Only of Day One of Kenya, though. I (and Daniel, AND Bekah) have been taking tons and tons of photos, and i'm thinking we won't have you sit and scroll through all of them, so here are some highlights!
Actually, i do have one (big) praise to share. So it turns out that writing that blog post the night before (or rather, hours before) we left wasn't the smartest idea i've ever come up with. I went to sleep, and woke up to the sound of my mom saying "You're not awake?". I was not until she asked, and when i asked why, she told me that it was 6:00. When we were supposed to all meet at the airport at 5. I'm not really sure how that happened, but we left two minutes later (we Ambos can scramble when we need to!) for the airport.
It worked out. The rest of the team was still in line to check our bags, so i was able to cut in line ( :[ ) and join them before they had that all taken care of. PRAISE GOD! Somehow, even though i'd slept in and arrived at the airport over an hour late, He worked things out so that we made it through just fine. Just another bit of proof that He'd been watching over this mission before it even started.
ahhhhhhhhh looks awesome!!! i expect a full picture update (probably via fb...?) when you get back! :D
